The XT180 is a license free two way radio from Motorola. A channel capacity of 8 allows for sufficient communications between a small team, also having a monitor/scan function to ensure that no communications are missed. A keypad lock allows for all functions to be disabled by the user when in operation, this ensuring that the user doesn’t accidently press the PTT button when not required.
VOX Voice Activation can be taken advantage of via the use of an optional extra earpiece, this allowing for the user to talk hands free with other radio operatives. An integrated LED torch allows for the user to monitor environments in darkened conditions, whilst a vibrate function will alert the operator of incoming communications and such. An IPx2 rating means that the radio is splash proof, allowing for the radio to be used in leisure environments.
This is an XT180 twin pack meaning that as well as the two radios, this package also comes with a charger and compatible batteries. The radio can be used in operation for up to 14 hours, this whilst transmitting at its full transmission power of 500mW. A Backlit feature display is present on the front of the radio displaying the channel number, this alongside multiple function buttons, and a channel selection knob on the top of the radio close to the antenna.
*Actual range will vary depending on terrain and conditions, and is often less than the maximum possible.
