Motorola SL2600 offers system capabilities that have yet to be included in models such as the SL1600. Some of the new features included are; IP Site Connect, Capacity Plus & Link Capacity Plus. This mid-tier portable radio is lightweight and discreet, whilst also being built to last even the toughest conditions.
The SL2600 is a digital two way radio from Motorola. Built to IP54 standards, the SL2600 has an ingress protection against dust whilst also being resistant to splashes of water. Being MIL-STD-810 G/E means that this radio is reliable, with the ruggedness to survive harsher working conditions. A 2300mAh Li-Ion battery is supplied with the SL2600, this has the capability to last up to 13.5 hours whilst in digital mode.
Additional features of the SL2600 include a variety of both safety and usability functions. Over-the-air updates are a possibility with the Motorola SL2600, allowing for minimal downtime when it comes to updating the software on your fleet of radios. Bluetooth connectivity allows for wireless accessories, whether this be to maintain a smart appearance in a hospitality environment or to take advantage of hands free communication in a busy working environment.

TDMA is a technology that allows several users to share the same frequency channel by dividing the signal into different time slots. With DMR this is two time slots to every 12.5KHz frequency channel allocation. Before DMR every 12.5KHz frequency allocation could carry just one broadcast of RF traffic. Now with DMR 12.5KHz bandwidth allows two voice channels. See the video below for an explanation on how this works.
Capacity plus is a quasi-trunking solutions that uses DMR TDMA time slot technology to mimic trunking technology. Capacity Plus will automatically select an available time slot for the radio trasmission. This allows for potentially unlimited channels or talk groups. The only restriction is the amount of available time slots.
Capacity Plus is only available for re-repeater-based systems, as it's essentially a repeater licence upgrade. With a basic Capacity Plus repeater licence you get 25 radio licences included. Any Capacity Plus compatible radio will work on a Capacity Plus enabled repeater.

Linked Capacity Plus
Linked Capacity Plus is an extension of the Capacity Plus system and allows for up to 15 sites. This enables the user to potentially build a reasobably large multi-site system at relatively low cost.

Capacity Plus & Linked Capacity Plus is repeater-based and is not available without a repeater.
Transmit interrupt is a feature that enables a high priority transmission to take priority over normal priority transmissions. For example a supervisor might want to make an important announcement to the team or call for an evacuation in the event of a incident.
Transmit Interrupt Information Video
Transmit Interrupt is a optional feature of the Motorola SL2600 (software licence required).
Lone Worker Feature
Lone Worker is a feature found on many two way radios where it's able to send a pre-determined signal, for example a distress call or alarm, to other radios in range, Lone Worker requires some type of interaction from the radio user after a period of radio inactivity. An example of this is the radio can be set to require the radio operator to interact with his or her radio once every 30 minutes. If they fail to do so, their radio will start making an audible sound. If there is still no interaction with his or her radio within 1 further minute, a alarm will sound to other team members to tell them a team member is not responding to Lone Worker. The supervisor can then dispatch another team member to the non-reponsive team member's last known location to offer assistance.
Lone Worker is built-in to the Motorola SL2600.
