The VX-241 is a license free two way radio from Vertex Standard. Built to IP54 rating the radio has a limited Ingress protection against dust, whilst also being safeguarded against splashes of water from all angles. Two programmable buttons are present on the VX-241, this allowing for the radio to be customised to suit the using workforces needs. 16 Channels allow for communications between a small to large team, these using 8 different pre-programmed PMR446 frequencies.
Coming as standard with a 1380mAh Li-Ion battery, this will allow for the VX-241 to operate for 19 hours whilst it is placed in battery saver mode. A low battery alert will sound when the radio is low on life, alerting the user that the radio must be charged in order to continue using it for communications. Standing at 110mm in height, 58mm in width and 30mm in depth the VX-241 is a fairly compact radio, this in addition to weighing just 270g whilst the battery is connected.
The VX-241 is VOX Voice Activation compatible but requires an additional headset, this will allow for the user to operate the device hands free should it be required in the environment they are working in. A military standard build quality means that the VX-241 is consistent in a variety of differing weather conditions, continuing to operate seamlessly from as low as -25°C through to 55°C.
Voice Activation (VOX)
Voice activation, commonly refered to as VOX, allows the user to initiate the radio to transmit, simply by using their voice. Some radios only allow VOX capability via an external audio accessory such as an earpiece or headset which is VOX-enabled or has a VOX button.
Activating Voice Activation or VOX
There are two possible ways of enabling voice activation (VOX). The first is that we can program a VOX-enable / VOX disable button on the radio. The other option is that we supply an audio accessory, an earpiece or headset, that has a VOX button. Contact us for more information about this.
Programming May Be Required
There may be programming required to activate VOX on your radio. In any event, please talk to our knowledgeable staff and we will be able to offer advice on VOX activation.
Voice Activation (VOX) is built-in to the Vertex Standard VX-241, but a VOX-enabled audio accessory, such as an earpiece or headset, may be required.
